Awards and Recognition

2014 IPAC-Deloitte Public Sector Leadership Award, Bronze - Central CCAC won this award for demonstrating outstanding leadership in developing and sharing it's Medication Management Support Services, which teaches and assists home care patients to take their medications safely. This national award, sponsered by the Institute of Public Administration (IPAC) and consulting firm, Deloitte, is recognition of Central CCAC's commitment to safe, quality and patient-centred care. 

2013 Canadian Innovative Best Practice Award – Part of National Research Corporation's Path to Excellence awards program, the Innovative Best Practice Award recognizes the innovative thinking and successful execution of Central CCAC's Medication Management Support Services (MMSS) program. Judges felt this simple, cost-effective program demonstrated innovative use of resources and lead to improved quality, cost, patient satisfaction, and safety. MMSS has improved the lives of complex care patients across the Central CCAC region by helping identify and solve medication-related problems.

Greater Toronto's Top Employer (2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 & 2016) - For six consecutive years, Central CCAC has been named one of Greater Toronto's Top Employers. This special designation recognizes Central CCAC for its progressive and forward-thinking programs in providing a healthy work environment, employee communications and community involvement, as well as the organization's continuing commitment to employees.

Quality Healthcare Workplace Award, Gold (2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 & 2015) – The Quality Healthcare Workplace Award honours health care organizations that strive to improve workplaces in order to give better care and services to patients, while at the same time improving the quality of work life for caregivers. Central CCAC earned the Gold level award for five years in a row.

Full Accreditation with Exemplary Standing, valid 2015-2019 -- Central CCAC is Accredited with Exemplary Standing, the highest accreditation award possible through Accreditation Canada's Qmentum program. This is the second consecutive time Central CCAC has earned this distinction. Among the many strengths highlighted during the accreditation process were Central CCAC's proactive approach to quality improvement, and how deeply a commitment to patient safety is ingrained as part of the culture of the organization. Entité 4 Recognition Award, 2013 -- In a region as diverse as the Central CCAC, making sure all patients have access to quality care is always a priority. The Entité 4 Recognition Award recognizes Central CCAC's commitment to providing patients with culturally and linguistically appropriate health care options and for its efforts in increasing long-term care beds in Scarborough's francophone community.
 
Central LHIN's Innovation through Collaboration Award of Distinction 2013 – The Central CCAC was honoured by the Central Local Health Integration Network (LHIN) for its collaborative role in two important initiatives:

  • Reducing surgical and diagnostic wait times that helped improve patients' access to care in the Central region
  • Creating a cluster care model for young adults with complex medical needs in the Central region
