Central CCAC named GTA Top Employer Seven Years in a Row

Newmarket, ON, December 12, 2016 – For the seventh consecutive year, the Central Community Care Access Centre (CCAC) has been named one of Greater Toronto's Top Employers, for its efforts to create an effective and progressive workplace that supports employees to be successful in delivering quality patient care.

"We are extremely proud of receiving the GTA Top Employer designation for 2017 — it is a testament to the caring spirit and strength of the team work here at Central CCAC," says Chief Executive Officer Megan Allen-Lamb. "Our employees' collective contributions and their dedication to patients and their families is what enables our vision to provide outstanding care – every person, every day."

Home and community care is an increasingly important component of Ontario's health system, and hiring and retaining highly skilled and dedicated employees is critical for organizations like Central CCAC, which supports over 86,000 patients in the Central region annually – 38,000 people on any given day.

Being named a top employer in Greater Toronto's competitive job market demonstrates Central CCAC's top-notch human resource practices, including high calibre work environment, health and financial benefits, training and skills development, to name a few. Allen-Lamb says this foundation of best practices will be key in the months ahead as changes are made in the health system to integrate care in ways that benefit patients.

"The GTA Top Employer award is recognition of the many strengths of our organization and our teams. It also reflects our unwavering commitment to those in our communities who rely on us every day," says Jacqueline Mockler, Vice President, Organizational Health & Performance Improvement. "Home and community care has a bright future, and our employees will continue to play an important and valued role in getting patients and their families the high quality care they need."
