News Release: Central West CCAC Honoured with Gold at Quality Healthcare Workplace Awards

For Immediate Release

The Central West Community Care Access Centre (CCAC), which provides home care and other essential health services in our community, has been honoured by the Ontario Hospital Association (OHA) and the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care with a Gold Quality Healthcare Workplace Award.

Health care organizations from across the province participate in the award program, which is meant to raise the bar of excellence for quality health care workplaces. The Central West CCAC's submission highlighted its supportive and caring culture, focus on staff training and development, and commitment to ensuring that all staff live the organization's mission, vision and values.

"I would like to congratulate the Central West Community Care Access Centre on this tremendous accomplishment", says Anthony Dale, Interim President and CEO of the Ontario Hospital Association. "You have demonstrated exceptional leadership and a strong commitment to staff. I look forward to your continued success."

The award is meaningful both because it reflects a commitment to staff and because that commitment translates into high-quality care for our community, notes Cathy Hecimovich, CEO, Central West CCAC.

"The Central West CCAC is very pleased to receive this award," she says.  "We are proud of our efforts to build a strong and healthy workplace, especially because we recognize that a high-quality work environment enhances our ability to provide exceptional patient care."
