What are IPAC Hubs?
As part of the province's comprehensive plan Keeping Ontarians Safe: Preparing for Future Waves of COVID-19, local networks of IPAC expertise (IPAC Hubs) have been developed across the health system, which will work to enhance IPAC practices in community based, congregate living organizations/settings.  These organizations/settings include long-term care homes, retirement homes, residential settings funded by the Ministry of Health (MOH), residential settings for adults and children funded by Ministry of Children, Community and Socials Services (MCCSS), shelters and supportive housing. 

IPAC Hub(s) will:

As IPAC hubs are further developed, they will work with the congregate living organizations in their catchment area. To prepare to collaborate with the local IPAC hub, congregate living organizations should have: IPAC/Occupational Health and Safety programs, policies and procedures in place; establish education and training programs for their staff; core policies and procedures to enable IPAC best practices during regular operations, as well as during an outbreak.
