Caregivers from across the region were recently recognized for their invaluable contributions at the Champlain CCAC's Heroes in the Home Caregiver Recognition Awards. The ceremonies were held in Ottawa on April 1st, in Cornwall on April 2nd, and in Pembroke on April 3rd.
The awards were presented to individuals − family members, friends, volunteers and health care professionals − whose kindness and commitment allow others to live full lives in their communities, despite the limitations of age, illness or disability.

Caregivers are essential partners in care, in every community across the Champlain region. Faced with unimaginable challenges, they make countless sacrifices to provide medical care, emotional support and daily assistance to those in need.
About 13 million Canadians have provided unpaid care to someone they know. It is estimated that the value of their work amounts to an economic contribution of roughly $25 billion annually across the country.
The Champlain CCAC is proud to organize the Heroes in the Home Caregiver Awards—a small gesture that allows us to thank a group of exceptional people.
