New Nursing Clinic Opens in Downtown Ottawa

Offers patients flexibility and choice in a convenient location

OTTAWA, May 22, 2015—The Champlain Community Care Access Centre (CCAC) and We Care Home Health Services have partnered to open a new nursing clinic at the Doctors Building in downtown Ottawa. This new clinic is located in a prime location with easy access to physicians, pharmacies and other health partners.

Nursing Clinic Benefits

Nursing clinics provide a broad range of services to people who require nursing treatment and education in self-care. Specialized services provided at the clinic include: wound care, intravenous infusions, ostomy care, catheter care, and lower leg assessment.

Nursing clinics ensure that health services can be provided to as many people as possible in the community while freeing up more nurse time for homebound individuals. As the number of people with high-care needs in the Champlain region rises, nursing clinics are proving to be a convenient and effective option for patients who are mobile.

Patients that visit nursing clinics benefit from:

  • A scheduled appointment – no waiting at home or in the ER
  • Flexibility – clinics are open 7 days/week and offer a variety of appointment times
  • Nursing clinics are staffed with highly qualified teams of nurses
  • Nursing clinic visits are arranged by patients' Champlain CCAC Care Coordinator as part of their care plan. They are by appointment only and are not the same as visiting a walk-in medical clinic.

"The Champlain CCAC is excited to expand services and provide convenient and professional care to people in our community," says Gilles Lanteigne, CEO, Champlain CCAC.

Referrals can be done by anyone: the patient, a caregiver or a health care professional. Access to these services only requires a call to the Champlain CCAC at 613-745-5525 (ask to be connected to the Intake Department).

The new nursing clinic is located at:

The Doctors Building
267 O'Connor St., Suite 609
Ottawa, ON

Hours: Monday to Friday, 7 am – 6 pm, Saturday to Sunday, 8 am – 4 pm
