Our People: Engaged and Proactive People

2013-2014 Annual Report

The Champlain CCAC is increasingly being recognized as a top healthcare employer. In 2014, we were named one of the National Capital Region's Top Employers. We also received a Gold-level Quality Healthcare Workplace Award from the Ontario Hospital Association and Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care.

These recognitions testify to the Champlain CCAC's commitment to attract and engage a highly skilled workforce. In fact, the results of our 2013 Employee Engagement Survey continue to show improvements − increasing between 10% and 25% since 2010 − in the areas of staff health and wellness, decision input, ability to take initiative, and trust.

From Care Coordinators to nurses and therapists to administrative staff, our employees strive to live the organization's values every day.

Anne - Care Coordinator, Complex Seniors

"I feel completely supported by my team members, fellow colleagues and the organization. I'm comforted by my clients' appreciation for the services they receive and for my efforts to make it happen. Previously, as a student in a Post-RN Diploma to Degree program, I was given an opportunity to be mentored by an experienced Care Coordinator. The pathway that led me to my current role at Champlain CCAC just feels like it was meant to be."

Gaelle - Team Assistant, Placement

"I was referred to the Champlain CCAC by a friend. After hearing her talk about her job, I decided to apply and was quickly hired. Six years later, I've never felt better about my decision to help people living in my community. I hope to use this experience to open my own seniors' residence one day."
