Language and culture play an essential role in the provision of health care services. The Erie St. Clair LHIN is committed to ensure the implementation of an integrated approach to address the needs of its Francophone population. Guided by legislation, the Erie St. Clair LHIN works with health system partners, including the Erie St. Clair/South West French Language Health Planning, in its geographic region to improve access to, and availability of high-quality health services provided in French.
The Erie St. Clair LHIN funds 82 Health Service Providers (HSPs) that range from community health centres, community support services, hospitals, long-term care homes to mental health and addictions services. To find out more information about HSPs that are designated or identified to provide services in French, please visit the Erie St. Clair LHIN website.
The Erie St. Clair LHIN also works with a number of Service Provider Organizations (SPOs) to provide home and community care on its behalf in order to support people living as independently as possible in the community. These services may include nursing, personal care (including bathing, dressing, etc.), physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and more. The SPOs below have identified some capacity to deliver services in French. The availability of bilingual staff may vary depending on the needs and location. Your care coordinator will assist you in obtaining services to meet your needs.
