Chatham, ON – The Erie St. Clair CCAC is excited to be once again
honouring local caregivers with the 4th annual Heroes in the Home
caregiver recognition program.
Whether it is a family member
caring for a loved one or a health professional providing quality care to
patients, the kindness and dedication of these individuals ensures that care is
delivered to those who need it. We call these exceptional caregivers “Heroes.”
Last year, we honoured nearly
70 caregivers across Windsor-Essex, Chatham-Kent and Sarnia Lambton. This year,
our goal is to celebrate 100 Heroes.
“We know that the physical
and emotional demands of caring for a loved one are significant. The Heroes
program is at least one way our CCAC can show our appreciation to the people
who are providing care to our patients in between personal support or nursing
visits,” said CEO Lori Marshall. “We are really hoping the community will get
involved more than ever to help us identify those Heroes.”
Nominations are now open and can
be submitted online at www.thepowerofcaregiving.ca. Each nominee, as well as the individual
who nominated them, is then invited to one of three official recognition events
in Chatham, Windsor and Sarnia in November.
“Caregivers play a crucial
role in our health care system and we are committed to continuing the Heroes in
the Home tradition,” said Marshall.
The deadline for nominations
is Friday, October 21, 2016. If you are not able to access the online survey,
