The Erie St. Clair Community Care Access Centre (CCAC) is dedicated to delivering quality patient and family-centred care. We are partnering with our patients and their families by creating the new volunteer role of patient advisor, in order to strengthen the delivery of quality home and community care.
Patient advisors represent all patients and families who receive care from the Erie St. Clair CCAC. They may be someone who has received care or has had a family member who's received care from the Erie St. Clair CCAC within the past five years. By volunteering approximately one to four hours a week, patient advisors sit on organizational working groups and committees to provide feedback and input based on their own experience(s). Patient advisors help to improve care by directly influencing organizational operations.
Patient advisors do not need any specific qualifications; it is their experience as a patient or as a family member of a patient that is most important. For more information on becoming a patient advisor, please visit our Patient and Family Centred Care web page.
