Chatham, ON – There are two weeks left to nominate exceptional caregivers for the Erie St. Clair Community Care Access Centre's 3rd annual Heroes In The Home recognition awards.
Anyone across Windsor-Essex, Chatham-Kent and Sarnia-Lambton can nominate a paid or unpaid caregiver who they feel provides exceptional care, whether it's a family member caring for a loved one or a health professional providing quality care to patients.
"At the CCAC, we're very passionate about the Heroes In The Home program because it allows us to honour all those individuals who go above and beyond in caring for people," said Dave Richie, Lead, Communications and Public Affairs. "We want to celebrate as many of those inspirational caregivers as possible."
The Erie St. Clair CCAC has honoured nearly 200 Heroes over the last two years, but nominations have been slow to come in for the third installment.
"The October 2nd deadline is fast approaching, so please don't put it off and miss out on the chance to show your appreciation to a deserving caregiver," said Richie. "I think we all know someone who exceeds the call of duty; sometimes it's a PSW or a nurse who not only provides quality care, but shows passion for delivering that care. Other times, it's a friend who goes to work all day, is raising a young family, but also takes the time to care for their elderly or sick parent."
To nominate a Hero, or to get more information, go to www.thepowerofcaregiving.ca. All nominees and their nominators are invited to one of three recognition events, where their story will be told and they'll receive a certificate of appreciation and a gift. The events will be held on:
Tuesday, November 10 – Club Alouette, Windsor
Wednesday, November 11 – Dante Club, Sarnia
Thursday, November 12 – Aristo's Banquet Room, Chatham
