Ivan Nicoletti, Care Coordinator for the Erie St. Clair CCAC, Receives Top Honours with Prestigious Provincial Leadership Award

June 21, 2013

Toronto, ON – Ivan Nicoletti, care coordinator for the Erie St. Clair Community Care Access Centre (CCAC), has been recognized for his outstanding efforts as a leader in community care. Nicoletti was presented with the provincial Leadership Award At the annual Ontario Association of Community Care Access Centre’s (OACCAC) Awards for Excellence, held last night in Toronto. Nicoletti is the first non-management CCAC employee to receive the prestigious award due to his exemplary leadership and positive contributions to health partner integration and health program development, which has led to a positive impact on the overall health and strength of the residents of Erie St. Clair and the care system.

The CCAC Leadership Award recognizes a CCAC board member or staff member skilled at translating vision into reality. Nicoletti’s insight into future health program development has set him apart from others in his field. As an expert in respiratory ailments and care delivery models, he consistently marries the ideas at the partnership tables with full care implementation in the community. "Ivan Nicoletti is a passionate visionary who is dedicated to continuously improving not only the care our residents receive, but also the efficiency and effectiveness of the health care system as a whole. We are thrilled for Ivan and we are delighted that his tremendous efforts have been recognized provincially with this esteemed award." says Erie St. Clair CCAC CEO, Betty Kuchta.

Respiratory illnesses in Erie St. Clair are dramatically higher than in other parts of Ontario, leading to greater Emergency Department waiting times and lower quality of life for residents. As one of the founders of the community COPD teams, a community-based health team focusing on providing education, support and assistance to those suffering from COPD, Nicoletti mines all his past frontline experience and demonstrates his sheer leadership through the use of common sense care solutions with outstanding results.
