Some seniors may require more frequent services than home care can provide or have more immediate needs that cannot be met through scheduled home care visits. Yet they still do not require the medical monitoring or supervision that would be provided in a long-term care home. Assisted living programs may be the right service for seniors who need higher levels of support and more frequent, unscheduled assistance.
Services vary according to need, and can include personal care, essential homemaking and an emergency response system.
Assisted living programs may be offered in a variety of settings, depending on where you live, including seniors apartments, social housing buildings or even in a senior's own home in some communities.
If you require assisted living services, your Care Coordinator can help determine eligibility and arrange services.
