As you may have heard, the North East CCAC is currently in labour negotiations with the Ontario Nurses' Association (ONA). We believe that we will reach a fair and reasonable agreement but we want to provide you with some information in the event there is a labour disruption on or after January 30, 2015.
If you are currently receiving personal support, nursing or therapy services in home, at a clinic in your community, or in school, rest assured that these services will continue without disruption. If you are awaiting placement to a Long-Term Care Home, the CCAC will contact you as soon as a room becomes available.
New patients coming onto care will experience some delays but we are working with our health care partners to minimize this as much as possible. Patients with urgent needs will be our priority.
If you are receiving support from one of our specialized nursing programs – Telehomecare, Rapid Response, Wound Care, Nurse Practitioner, or Mental Health & Addictions, your visits/appointments will be postponed until the end of the strike.
If there is a labour disruption, members of the North East CCAC team will still be available to support your urgent health care needs. You may call us at 310-CCAC (no area code required) from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm, 7 days per week.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your Care Coordinator. The North East CCAC continues to operate normally at this time.
We appreciate your understanding and ongoing support. Updates will be posted here as needed.
