June 20, 2014
Sudbury, ON — At its Annual General Meeting held Thursday, June 19, 2014, the North East CCAC Board of Directors confirmed a new Director, welcoming North Bay’s Connie Vander Wall to the fold.
“It takes great dedication and a will to serve selflessly to take on a Director role with any Board, but health care is known as one of the most arduous and complex areas to govern. We welcome individuals with diverse backgrounds and different skill sets, which helps us to reflect and represent the diversity of the people who live in northeastern Ontario,” said Ron Farrell, Board Chair.
Connie Vander Wall is a seasoned Human Resources professional who leverages her education, experience and skills for broader public sector organizations promoting “the greater good”. She has 20 years of human resource experience in the post-secondary education environment, and is a Certified Human Resources Professional. Connie holds a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Master of Science Degree in Management. An advocate and participant of life-long learning, she is a knowledgeable and results oriented leader with a strong track record of building value-added human resources departments. She is an active member in several professional associations and organizations. After 29 years of human resources experience, Connie has become a human resource and management consultant for both private and broader public sector organizations.
“I am honoured to join the Board of such an innovative and caring organization. This is a challenging and exciting time to be in health care, and I look forward to rolling up my sleeves and working with a progressive and accountable board,” stated Vander Wall.
The Board also thanked departing Board member and former vice-Chair Beverley Polowy for her 7 years of dedicated service. Polowy, of Timmins, was recently awarded a special Leadership Award in recognition of her thoughtful leadership, diligence and dedication to the Board and her ongoing support for CCAC employees, patients and families across the North East.
