We are pleased to announce that the strike by ONA-represented employees at the North East CCAC is now over. Please click here to read the news release from the Ontario Association of Community Care Access Centres.
All of our Care Coordinators, Placement Admissions Coordinators, Health Care Connectors, Mental Health and Addiction Nurses for Schools, Rapid Response Nurses, Telehomecare Nurses, Nurse Practitioners (primary care and palliative care), and Enterostomal Therapy Nurses will be returning to work beginning Tuesday, February 17th and throughout the week as scheduled.
We anticipate that there may be delays while we ramp up to normal operations and we thank our patients, caregivers and families for their understanding. Patients who have had any services put on hold or who were waitlisted for home care services during the labour disruption will be contacted as quickly as possible with further details about their care.
Our nurses and other ONA-represented employees are critical members of the North East CCAC family and we have missed their experience and expertise. Our team remains united in the care of, and concern for, patients, caregivers and their families across the North East.
