Effective September 9, 2015, the Board of Directors for the North Simcoe Muskoka Community Care Access Centre (CCAC) has appointed Barry Monaghan to serve as Interim Chief Executive Officer to replace outgoing CEO Megan Allen-Lamb. As shared earlier this year, Megan accepted a CEO position with the Central CCAC.
"Barry Monaghan will provide great continuity and stability within the organization while the Board of Directors undertakes a thorough search for a new permanent CEO. He has an excellent understanding of strategic and operational priorities in the home and community care sector, both within the region and across the provincial health system," said Colleen Geiger, NSM CCAC Board Chair.
Barry brings a broad range of health leadership to the CCAC having worked with Government, Local Health Integration Networks (LHINs), Health Care Associations, Hospitals and Community Care Access Centres throughout his career. He served as President and CEO of West Park Healthcare Centre for many years, was the founding CEO for the Toronto Central LHIN, and has provided crucial leadership with various health care organizations during transition periods. Most recently, Barry was the Interim CEO with the Waterloo Wellington CCAC and will bring unique insights to our region based on this fresh experience. Specific to North Simcoe Muskoka, Barry has held Interim President and CEO positions with Georgian Bay General Hospital, Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare Centre, and this past year served as an Executive Advisor with a team that conducted a review of Senior's Programs in the North Simcoe Muskoka LHIN.
"I am honored to assume the interim CEO role, at such an exciting time in the home care sector, and look forward to working with the Board of Directors, staff and partners to ensure the organization continues to progressively move forward with the provision of patient and family centered care," said Monaghan.
"We are delighted that Barry will be joining our team during this interim period. He has the full support of the Board of Directors and Executive Team. We are confident he will provide the organization with exceptional leadership," concluded Ms. Geiger. The Board of Directors has initiated the search process for our permanent CEO following procurement and selection of search firm Four Corners. It is anticipated that a new permanent CEO for North Simcoe Muskoka CCAC will be in place early 2016.
