Heroes in the Home is an annual recognition awards program sponsored by the South West Community Care Access Centre (CCAC), in partnership with the SouthWesthealthline.ca. Each year, CCAC patients and all others involved in home and community care, have the chance to nominate a special caregiver friend, volunteer, or a health-care professional.
Celebrate a special caregiver in your life!
They might shovel your sidewalk or take you to buy groceries. Maybe they help you exercise to stay mobile. Perhaps they simply visit to cheer you up when you feel down.
They are family members, friends, neighbours and community volunteers. They are nurses, care coordinators, personal support workers, therapists and social workers. And they are always there to support you when and where you need it the most.
If you have a hero in your life—someone who makes it possible for you to live more comfortably and independently—show you appreciation by nominating him or her for a Caregiver Recognition Award. Any caregiver who provides care in the home can be nominated, and all nominees will receive a certificate of recognition during a special ceremony in the fall.
