Information and Communication Technology Supervisor

Job Summary:

As a member of the corporate services team, the Information and Communication Technology (ICT)  Supervisor is responsible for leading the development and maintenance of networks, security, telecommunications and systems across the South West CCAC.

Reporting to the Information Technology and Facilities Manager, you will:

  • Lead the Infrastructure Team in the development, design, installation, configuration, maintenance and issue control around all buildings and wide area network communications
  • Monitor and manage the network and server security
  • Manage service level agreements and implement large and small scale disaster recovery plans to ensure uptime of networks, applications and servers
  • Lead the development of VOIP system end-user training; guide the organization in the creation of user documentation
  • Make process improvement recommendations for the network, server, telecommunications and applications infrastructure
  • Develop corporate standards for infrastructure, to ensure security, integrity and privacy
  • Performs impact analysis on service requests to assess impacts of system changes and infrastructure modifications, and makes recommendations based on analysis

Your qualifications and experience will include:

  • Post-secondary education in computer science, Management Information Systems, Information Security or equivalent education and experience
  • 5 years relevant experience
  • ITIL Foundations Certification an asset
  • Sound knowledge of industry best practices project management methodologies
  • Previous experience in an information technology support capacity
  •  Knowledge of LAN/WAN and IP technologies, network servers, and equipment and design
  •  Knowledge of management information systems, technology and software
  • Knowledge of data privacy legislation, laws and practices and in security requirements
  • Understanding of the impact on client service delivery of changes and interruptions to applications
  • Basic knowledge of South West CCAC business strategies, objectives, priorities and programs, and related Business Solutions and Information Technology priorities and plans
  • Advanced knowledge of internet searching and navigating
  • Ability to listen to and understand customer needs and concerns
  • Ability to lead goal oriented teams in high pressure environments
  • Regular travel to different sites across the South West CCAC and outside of the South West region
  • Proficiency in French an asset
