Position: Manager, Quality & Project Management
FTE: 1.0 – Full-time
Initial Assignment: 141 Weber Street, Waterloo, ON & 450 Speedvale Ave. W. Guelph, ON; Regular Day Shift.
The Manager, Quality and Project Management is responsible for the development, implementation and monitoring of continuous quality improvement and the project management discipline (tools and processes) within the CCAC. This role also provides support to the leadership team in the development and monitoring of the annual business plan and quality initiatives to support the delivery of outstanding care and service – every person, every day and is reflective of our organization's values.
NATURE & SCOPE:
Designs and guides the implementation of a corporate planning framework (strategic planning, divisional planning, annual operating plans, annual quality improvement plans, budget plans, and leadership performance planning)
Undertakes research including environmental scans, identification of best practices and data gathering to provide information for annual planning processes
Organizes the logistics for the annual business planning process, including monthly status reviews; designs and facilitates the working sessions
Develops, tracks, monitors and reports on performance metrics
Provide leadership, coaching, mentoring and formal training to internal stakeholders on development, implementation and use of continuous quality improvement and project management methodologies
Serves as a project manager or quality lead for internal projects focused on quality and performance improvement; develops and implements a repository for projects, implements reporting/tracking systems, and maintains a core set of tools and standard methodologies; also provides coordinator of project activities such as process mapping, value stream mapping, work flow and rapid improvement events.
Prepares and delivers presentations to senior staff
Supports quality improvement function as part of the team to develop, implement and review action plans
Provides support to the organization – participation in strategic planning, development and monitoring of organizational performance metrics
Attends Board meetings to provide technical support and information as appropriate
Develops, reviews and revises the Performance Improvement Plan aligned with the Quality Management Plan, Accreditation Canada standards, and reports regularly on progress and measures related to performance improvement
Co-creates, with Director of Quality, Risk Management and Planning, the framework and curriculum to support Quality Improvement (QI) goals and plan
Ensures effective management of research project documentation including relevant correspondence, ethics applications/approvals, consent forms, study results, and project reports.
Oversees and manage all research activities that the organization is involved in – ensures alignment with organization's strategic priorities; progress tracking; compliance with research standards; and undertakes evaluations
Serves on external projects, working groups and committees within the sector, and across the broader health sector to develop and share best practices and / or work on specific initiatives; may also present / represent the WWCCAC at forums, events or conferences
Prepares reports, briefing notes and presentations for all levels and stakeholders of the organization as needed.
Business analytics, strong understanding of data (working closely with Decision Support unit), defining root cause and defining of problem statements – this is big item
Provide guidance in leading business practices/frameworks
Development of job aids and procedures for organizational policies and procedures
Education and experience typically includes a university degree / college diploma with specialization in health and/or business and 3 – 5 years of professional experience (or equivalent)
Professional certification in project management – PMP certification preferred
Knowledge of the Ontario health sector - roles, responsibilities and accountabilities
Knowledge of the WW CCAC's programs and services
Knowledge of strategic planning and performance measurement
Knowledge of project management and program evaluation
Knowledge of core business and analytic applications
Knowledge of research, analysis and reporting
Knowledge of managing stakeholders, projects and/or programs
