Initial Assignment: Patient Services / 141 Weber Street, Waterloo ON initially but note that this position may be subject to a location change or hoteling in future.
Regular Day Shift.
- Reporting to the Senior Director, Patient Services, the Director will be the primary lead responsible for the development and implementation of activities that enable the Waterloo Wellington Integrated Coordinated Access Program to successfully address the regional vision/direction.
- The Director, in collaboration with the System Coordinated Access Steering Committee manages the operations of WWLHIN-wide Coordinated Access projects. The Director is responsible to the CCAC for the management and administration of the Coordinated Access implementation plan and its deliverables. The Director is responsible, within parameters established by the Coordinated Access Steering Committee, for Coordinated Access program deliverables and outcomes. The Director will work collaboratively with other Coordinated Access stakeholders and organization to meet the mandate of the Coordinated Access service delivery improvements.
- The Director is a regional resource to WWLHIN residents and stakeholders. The Director will need to maintain a position of neutrality and objectivity from the regional perspective within the context of the WWCCAC's employment. The Director is required to implement and adhere to policies as determined by the WWCCAC and consistent with the requirements of any legislation or regulations.
- May direct CCAC operational service delivery units related to system access.
NATURE & SCOPE:
- Establishing and fostering positive working relationships with stakeholder organizations and individuals throughout the local health care system
- Designing and carrying out stakeholder consultation and engagement
- Communication internally, and to community stakeholders on issues, progress and the value of integrated coordinated system access
- Developing annual work plan incorporating defined timelines, outcomes and evaluation measures
- Statistical reporting including identification of measures to demonstrate achievement of desired outcomes, describe service utilization, developing processes for efficient data collection and analysis in concert with Decision Support
- Providing overall project management direction for the Integrated System Coordinated Access project in Waterloo Wellington
- Working with staff and partnering organizations to develop processes and systems to ensure consistent, high quality access to services
- Providing advice and recommendations to regional leaders on policy and issues which affect access to service delivery
- Developing proposals/supports proposal development with partners for project resources for approval by senior leadership
- Negotiating with stakeholder organizations for in-kind support such as administrative support, office space or materials as appropriate
- Works collaboratively to integrate activities and functions into day-to-day operations
- Providing advocacy for integrated system coordinated access services
- Maintaining an awareness and understanding of the current environment that impact access services
- Identifying opportunities, initiatives and resources to maximize efficiency, synergy and sustainability
- Participating in the CCAC policy development process related to access to service delivery
- Other duties as assigned
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Health, Public or Business Administration or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 5-7 years relevant managerial experience overseeing and developing complex information systems and projects in a health-care setting
- Knowledge of management information systems, technology and software
- Knowledge in data privacy legislation, laws and practices and in security requirements
- Well-developed understanding of the impact of technology on patient service delivery
- Demonstrated experience in complex project management, data management, quality improvement and program evaluation
- System thinking for applying new technologies in the home health care environment
- Excellent relationship building and engagement skills
- Excellent leadership skills to integrate CCAC services and initiatives with those of other agencies across the healthcare sector
- Manages and provides leadership to Patient Services staff at the manager level and indirectly supervises professional and support staff
- Leaderships skills that will promote team building and desired organizational culture
- Strong conflict resolution, negotiation and mediation skills
- Ability to communicate both orally and in writing to a variety of audiences internally and externally e.g., service providers, community partners and patients.
- Strong collaboration skills to participate and lead projects and committees with internal and external stakeholders
- Strong working knowledge of computer software (e.g., Word, Excel)
- Ability to travel throughout Waterloo Wellington
